Rogers Historical Museum
For more than a century professional photographers have been
capturing significant moments in our community's history. Many
of those photographs are now in the collections of the Rogers
Historical Museum, and a few outstanding images have been
selected for display at the Arkansas World Trade Center.
"Visions of Change: Historic Photographs from the Rogers
Historical Museum" illustrates the changes that occurred between
two pivotal moments, the coming of the railroad and the creation
of Beaver Lake. The arrival of the railroad in 1881 created
Rogers and opened up new opportunities for all of Northwest
Arkansas. The building of Beaver Dam in the 1960s provided the
water supply that has made this region's growth over the past
four decades possible. In between these two major events
photographers captured changes in agriculture, industry,
commerce and transportation, including the birth of the modern
poultry industry and the rise of manufacturing after World War
II.
The Rogers Historical Museum is a family-friendly local history
museum located in Rogers' historic downtown. The Museum offers a
variety of exhibits and programs on area history, and also
brings traveling exhibitions of general interest to our area.
Hours are 10 to 5 Monday through Friday.
