Lisa Alvarado-Majors

“Art is what I do for enjoyment,
to make a statement, to remember a moment in time, to decorate
walls, to sustain a living, and to leave something of value
behind. Video is the medium I use to share an idea, a message, a
particular place, an interesting person, an event, or a glimpse
of human nature. These are my two passions in life.”
- Lisa
Lisa grew up loving art. Her mother was a
photographer and they did many craft projects together during
her childhood. Her grandmother and aunt always encouraged her to
do art projects and even bought her supplies. Created mostly as
a hobby until the 1980’s, Lisa began to explore new
opportunities to sell her art, leading her to create works or
art that she could be proud of, but most importantly for others
to enjoy.
Lisa has had an exciting career. Originally from
Arkansas, Lisa has spent time in Miami, Los Angeles and in
several countries throughout the world pursuing objects of her
artistic creations. She has returned to her home state of
Arkansas and now has several pieces on display at the Arkansas
World Trade Center. Many of the pieces on display are part of
her goal to bridge the gap between Arkansas natives and the
recent influx of Latin American culture.
