Gateway to the European Union

This trip from May 1-9, 2020, will allow small businesses to strengthen existing relationships while exploring new, emerging markets in Southern Europe and the Mediterranian.

Italy is a valued trade partner, accounting for $47 million in imports from Arkansas in 2017. The past three years have also seen impressive growth between the “Bel Paese” and Arkansas, with exports from the Natural State to Italy growing from $54 million in 2018 to $72 million in 2019 — a 33% increase, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

Italy is also a reliable customer of Arkansas’ paper manufacturing industry, accounting for $11 billion in imports between 2015 and 2017.

Italian companies have made their mark on Arkansas through several manufacturing investments. There are Italian-owned manufacturing companies in northwest, northeast and central Arkansas producing everything from copper wire and cables to controlled automation software and saw blades.

Furthermore, Italy remains a member of the European Union, whose membership imported $2.47 billion in goods and services from Arkansas while supporting more than 37,000 jobs in 2017.

Don’t hesitate to join us on a trip to bolster Arkansas businesses abroad!
