Export training programs for Italy-Arkansas trade could come to local businesses

The World Trade Center Arkansas is partnering with multiple organizations this summer to present Arkansas companies, professionals and international business students with three events designed to help them learn the basics of exporting, grow their international sales and connect with other international business resources and professionals.
The 2019 Summer Export Series will begin with the Export Fair on Tuesday, May 7 at the World Trade Center in Rogers. The Fair is presented by the U.S. Small Business Administration and there is no cost to attend. Participants will meet and learn from exporting businesses, speed network with business consultants, learn about export funding opportunities and other exporting resources.
On Thursday, June 6 the Arkansas District Export Council will present the Grow Your Exports seminar at the Center in Rogers. This course covers many of the fundamental areas of exporting and is ideal for import-export operations personnel, marketing and sales management, purchasing or logistics personnel. The course is also open to any student or professional interested in learning more about the exporting process. Registration costs $79 and includes a copy of the latest edition of A Basic Guide to Exporting from the U.S. Commercial Service.
World Trade Center partner IBT Online will present a seminar called Exporting Online at the World Trade Center on Tuesday, July 16. IBT Online is a company that specializes in international online marketing and website localization for small businesses. This two hour seminar is free to attend and will help companies learn how to make their websites effective and compliant for selling to international markets.
“Equipping companies with the training and knowledge they need to become more effective exporters is a vital part of our mission to serve Arkansas businesses,” said Denise Thomas, Director of Africa and Middle East Trade for the World Trade Center Arkansas. “We partner with some of the best organizations that have experienced and expert professionals in this field. Our aim is to position Arkansas companies in front of these professional so that they can tap into that expertise to meet their goals.”
The World Trade Center Arkansas is partnering with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Arkansas District Export Council, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, SCORE, the U.S. Commercial Service, IBT Online, the Export-Import Bank of the United States and Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
The event is sponsored by the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce; the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce; the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce; the Springdale Chamber of Commerce and the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce.
The mission of the World Trade Center Arkansas is to grow trade and increase Arkansas exports by connecting Arkansas businesses to the world through international trade services. The Center is part of the University of Arkansas and serves as the trade promotion arm for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.
