Statement from Farmers for Free Trade on World Trade Center Arkansas with Governor Hutchinson

Rogers, Arkansas/Washington D.C. – Farmers for Free Trade Board President, Sara Lilygren released the following statement on the importance of Arkansas agricultural trade and NAFTA. The statement comes as World Trade Arkansas and Farmers for Free Trade co-host an event highlighting the importance of NAFTA to Arkansas with Governor Asa Hutchinson.

“Canada and Mexico account for a third of all of Arkansas exports. Importantly, our NAFTA partners are a huge market for Arkansas agricultural exports, from rice, to poultry, to dairy. Farmers for Free Trade appreciates Governor Asa Hutchison’s leadership and support for economically imperative trade agreements, such as NAFTA, that are the lifeblood of Arkansas agricultural exports. From our farmers and ranchers, to global leaders such as Tyson and Walmart, the integration of the North American supply chain benefits Arkansas, our rural communities as well as customers around the world.”
