World Trade Center Arkansas (WTC AR) and the Kingdom of the Netherlands have exchanged trade trips across the waters. Trade Minister, Lilianne Ploumen led the delegation to Arkansas recently in February to meet with key business leaders and government officers. From introductions made and business discussed, a reverse trip was completed in April led by Mr. Boon Tan, Senior Director of Trade from the WTC AR. He accompanied Dale Benedict of Bio-Tech Pharmacal to meet with Pieter de Vries, Economic Coordinator for the US and Canada at the Ministry in Hague, Netherlands.
Bio-Tech is already doing business with our trading partner and has a distributor in the Netherlands. While in Delft, Netherlands, they attended the Vitamin D Conference that attracts trade opportunities from around the world.
The Ministry is organizing a business delegation parallel to the visit of the Dutch Royal Couple to Canada and the U.S. in June 2015. While in the U.S., the business delegation will be visiting Grand Rapids, Chicago, Detroit and Boston focusing on “Feeding the City” and “Healthy Ageing”. With agriculture and bio-technology being two of the three cluster industries for Arkansas, the WTC AR is looking forward to working with the Ministry during their trade mission in June.
